Have you ever asked yourself....

Why should I bother to read the Bible?

Doesn't it make sense to read the Bible, especially if you are convinced of even a remote possibility it is God’s word? The Bible contains truths that you must come to comprehend. Your eternal future depends on it.

The theme of the Bible, from beginning to end, is man’s need for redemption and God’s provision of that redemption. You need to be saved. The Bible points to your salvation.

Who said that?

A student in a New England university said he had an intellectual problem with Christianity and could not therefore accept Christ as Savior. “Why can’t you believe?” I asked. He replied, “The New Testament is not reliable.” I then asked, “If I demonstrate to you that the New Testament is one of the most reliable pieces of literature of antiquity, will you believe?” He retorted, “NO!” “You don’t have a problem with your mind, but with your will,” I answered.

Josh McDowell, author, lecturer

“Whatever one may think of the authority of and the message presented in the book we call the Bible, there is worldwide agreement that in more ways than one it is the most remarkable volume that has ever been produced in the some five thousand years of writing on the part of the human race.”

Wilbur Smith, author, collector of 25,000 volumes
