A New Testament christian is one who attempts to pattern his/her christianity after the New Testament. (New Testament writings is his/her standard, guideline.) When a New Testament christian is forced to choose between one of many “commandments of men” within evangelicalism and holy Scripture, he/she chooses obedience to Scripture. The contrast to a New Testament christian is a contemporary (modernized, culturalized) christian. A contemporary christian is one who models today’s accepted version of christianity.
Jesus taught us (Mat. chapter 7), “Whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him
to a wise man.” Most important question: Is the New Testament the “sayings” of Christ Jesus? Or are decrees of evangelicalism His sayings? Suggestion….
