Jesus Christ vs the Evangelical Tithe

# 48: The “apostles and elders” in Jerusalem met with christian pharisees and their rivals, Paul and Barnabas, to discuss the circumcision question. Their conclusion: Paul (and others) were sent back to the gentile converts with instructions to deliver the following message….

“It seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things: that you abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well.”

The gentile converts (most reading this are gentile converts) were not admonished to surrender 10% of their income to any person or for any cause! “It seemed good to the Holy Spirit” to not impose the awful evangelical tithe upon Christ’s beloved saints. Surely that which “seemed good to the Holy Spirit” ought to ‘seem good’ to evangelicals. Amen?

Note: The mentioned pharisees were born-again believers. They taught (Amp), “It is necessary to circumcise [the gentile christians], and to command them to keep the law of Moses.” This thoroughly validates that christians can and do teach heresy to christians. Pastors (etcetera) who teach God initiated the evangelical tithe are also examples of christians teaching heresy to christians.
