Issue # 9 – You…. In Perspective

IT’S YOUR DECISION

If a friend invited you for a coffee you would have a decision to make. You would either accept or reject the invitation. A non-reply would be considered a refusal.

If Jesus had not invited you into His kingdom you would not have to decide. But He did and you do. A non-reply is considered a refusal.

In a preceding article I pointed out how blessed you are to live in North America. You enjoy one of the world’s highest living standards whereby even the poor are rich. But in some ways it is a detriment to live in these countries where, generally, people reject the Lord Jesus Christ and the salvation He freely gives, choosing instead to chase after false gods and compromising pleasures.
If you lived in a country where life is hard you would more likely accept the invitation that Jesus offers. I am told when people of some poverty nations hear the gospel message as many as half or more respond, such is the hunger for truth and reality. Of all the countries in the world, Canada is one of the most hardened against the gospel. Perhaps we just have too much.

But regardless of what friends and family and acquaintances think or do, you should make a quality decision to follow Christ. In the past you have made wise decisions and poor. I pray you would make a wise decision to build your life on the words of Jesus.

“Whosoever despises the word shall be destroyed (Proverbs 13:13).” If you reject Christ you will die in your sins. The time of decision will soon pass. Your fate will be sealed. Forever. You will cry out to Christ to save you from that awful prison I have warned you about, but He will not hear you. You will be lost – eternally lost, hopelessly lost.

Jesus invites you into His kingdom. He offers a much better life than the one you have. He will gladly wash away your sins and make you white as fresh fallen snow. He will never leave you or forsake you. Your new life will be rich, very rich. If you accept Christ’s invitation, if you humbly come to Him asking Him to forgive your sins and give you the new life He won for you on Calvary’s cross, you will never – never, never – regret that decision.

Deuteronomy 30:19: “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both you and your seed may live.”
