A: Relationally, most prefer a faraway Jesus.

A: Christians love light AND darkness.

Q: What light do christians love?

A: Christians love Jesus, “the light of the world.”

Q: What darkness do christians love?

A: Lukewarmness. Stinginess. Raunchy entertainment.

Excessive luxury. Prominence. Love of money. And….

Q: And?

A: And religion, perhaps the most subtle of all idols.

Q: How do I know if I have an idol?

A: “Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.”

Q: What has my attention has me?

A: Exactly.

Q: So to choose darkness I must avoid Jesus?

A: Amen. A nearby Jesus would be most uncomfortable.
